Which is the best Inkjet Printer?
I had an Epson – great job! – but after 3 years I had to replace it. Now I have a Lexmark but its awfull – same cartridge for black and colors and it’s gone after 5 pages of full color!! And at £15/pack is not cheap… I desperatelly need your opinion – which one has it all – great quality, long lasting cartriges …and low aquisition price? Thanks
I use the printer for architectural presentation, marketing materials – both need to be at top quality printing (photo)
I sympathize with your plight. There are many different inkjet printers out there, many with specific features that you may or may not desire. You didn’t indicate that you are printing photos and you didn’t state how many pages you print a month on average.
When selecting an inkjet I look for a couple features, one is at least 6 ink color, preferably in separate cartridges. For some reason I always run my red out first. Second, I look to see how the paper feeds. On some models a gravity feed method is used that relies on a single paper feed roller, this can cause the paper to skew and jam. I prefer paper being loaded in the front and using at least three rollers.
Price is another feature. You can get a nice inkjet for under $100 US easy, but the cartridges do cost. Be aware, that most printers come with basic cartridges but they have a much smaller amount of ink in them. When you buy a retail pack, there is much more ink present so it last much longer. I don’t recommend refill kits, the ink in them tends to change color over time.
I would suggest looking at www.hp.com and looking at the specific printers. There are some excellent deals both online and in stores, plus HP has a proven track record in this market.
